Risks and limitations

Data privacy, accuracy, compliance — everything your team needs to know to use AI safely and responsibly. We keep this practical rather than theoretical, focusing on the risks most relevant to charity and non-profit work specifically.

5

What's next — a look ahead

A top-level look at where AI is heading, including agentic AI and Custom GPTs. Small groups then discuss where AI could make the biggest difference to their own work

1

Where are we?

A clear, jargon-free picture of what generative AI actually is and how the main tools : ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot differ from each other.

Participants explore the landscape through a short group discussion on what they're currently trying with generative AI.

2

What are charities doing?

Real examples from across the sector — how organisations like yours are using AI to draft policy briefings, write member communications, summarise reports and automate repetitive admin.

We look at what's genuinely saving time, and what's still more hype than reality.

3

Prompting

The foundation of getting consistently good results from any AI tool. We work through Character, Context and Clarity. Then, participants practise live, building a prompt for a real task from their own role in both a basic and advanced version.

We then discuss the outputs of the prompts and potential ways to refine further

Your team knows AI is important. They just don't know where to start.

  • Staff are experimenting with AI alone, inconsistently and unsafely
  • Every week there's a new AI tool, a new headline, a new thing to worry about
  • Leadership isn't sure what to allow or how to govern it
  • Everyone's heard the buzz but nobody has time to figure it out
  • Generic training doesn't speak to the charity sector

Most AI training is built for tech companies. It's full of jargon, irrelevant examples, and leaves charity professionals feeling more confused than when they started.

Our half day intro to generative AI course, is a charity specific introduction on how you can start to use generative AI in your organisation.
